Privacy Policy
This policy explains how TheirSide handles data for private AI character chat, AI group rooms, uploaded materials, optional public-page analytics, account deletion, and fictional character conversations.
Information we collect
TheirSide collects the account information you provide, such as email address, display name, authentication provider identifiers, and subscription status.
When you use the product, we process individual character chat messages, AI group chat messages, scripted scene state, fictional character settings, uploaded reference materials, generated text or media outputs where features are available, and usage events needed to operate the service.
If you make the optional 18+ confirmation for adult text, we store only the confirmation timestamp and policy version. We do not collect or store a date of birth for this confirmation.
How we use information
- Operate private AI character chats, AI group rooms, scripted story scenes, saved history, account controls, and available conversation tools.
- Maintain subscriptions, entitlements, invoices, refunds, support requests, abuse prevention, and security controls.
- Improve reliability and debug issues without exposing raw secrets, API keys, or payment credentials in logs.
Uploaded reference and text materials
Users may only upload materials they own or are authorized to use. TheirSide stores uploaded materials only to provide character creation and related product features.
We may remove or restrict materials that appear unauthorized, unsafe, illegal, or inconsistent with our Acceptable Use Policy.
Payments
Payments and subscription management are handled by our payment provider or merchant of record. TheirSide receives subscription status and customer identifiers needed to enable paid access, but does not store full payment card numbers.
Optional analytics and first-touch attribution
Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is optional and loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Our custom product events use allowlisted names and fields plus normalized, query-free page locations; those custom events do not include raw referrer URLs, chat content, transcripts, email addresses, or account, chat, message, and job identifiers. Vercel Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are not loaded by the current client. Before your choice, we do not load the analytics tag or set the acquisition cookie; declining keeps both off without affecting functional or authentication cookies.
To remember your choice, we store a functional consent cookie for up to one year.
If you allow analytics, a first-party acquisition cookie lasts up to seven days and contains only source, medium, referrer hostname, registered public landing path, page locale, and capture time. We never retain search terms, query strings, a full referrer URL or path, chat content, uploaded materials, or an email address in acquisition attribution.
If you authenticate while that cookie is valid, we associate at most one first-touch record with your account and expire the browser cookie. The claimed record follows the account retention and deletion terms below.
Support chat
We use Crisp as a third-party customer support chat tool on non-chat pages. If you use the chat widget, Crisp may process your support messages and necessary visitor, device, and session information to deliver the conversation.
Retention and deletion
We retain account, chat, media, and billing records while your account is active or as needed for security, fraud prevention, support, legal, tax, and payment obligations.
You may delete your account from the product where the account controls are available, or contact support for account and data deletion requests.
Account deletion is designed to delete your chats, characters, memories, group rooms, and uploaded media. Some payment, tax, security, and webhook audit records may need to be retained where required by law, fraud prevention, or payment processing obligations.
