Direct answer
TheirSide's AI character creator lets a signed-in user build a custom fictional character from authorized profile material, then use that character in individual character chat or multi-character AI rooms; avatar generation, image tools, and voice options depend on account and environment availability.
Capabilities and limits
| Experience on this page | Signed-in users can create a custom fictional profile from authorized material and use it in character, group, or story chat. |
|---|---|
| Group mode participants | In group mode, one human user converses with multiple AI characters. |
| Real-time multi-human chat | Not supported. TheirSide is not real-time chat between multiple human participants. |
| Optional media features | Avatar generation, image tools, and voice options are available only when the account and environment support them. |
What you can build
Upload an authorized portrait and add notes, a small bio, or a scene prompt. TheirSide helps turn that material into a custom fictional character profile.
Use the uploaded portrait directly or create styled avatar options where image generation is available for your account and environment.
Created characters appear in your workspace so they can chat individually, join freeform AI group chats, or take a role in a scene script.
Workflow
Use an image you have the right to use. The creator keeps consent visible before upload.
Generate or edit name, personality, boundaries, style, and the parts that make the character recognizable.
Pick the uploaded avatar or a generated candidate, preview voice options, and submit an authorized sample on supported plans.
Use the character in AI character chat, group chat, and story-style scenes.
Field manual
After you upload an authorized avatar and confirm consent, attach the template's Markdown as the optional source document, click “Generate profile with AI,” then review and revise the generated fields and avatar before confirmation.
| Authorized avatar and consent (required) | An original fictional portrait of a night-train archivist; confirm that you have the right to use it. |
|---|---|
| Source document (optional) | Attach the template's Markdown export, then click “Generate profile with AI.” Selecting the file alone does not import it. |
| Name (required) | Mara Venn |
| Gender (required) | Female |
| Personality summary (required) | Patient, observant, and dryly funny; becomes direct when a detail is hidden. |
| Habits (optional) | Logs the time before asking a question; turns a brass compass over in one hand. |
| Likes (optional) | Accurate records, rain against carriage windows, mint tea. |
| Boundaries (optional) | Stays fictional, refuses impersonation, and does not invent private facts about real people. |
| Avatar selection (required) | Review the uploaded portrait or an available generated candidate, then choose one before confirmation. |
Attach the template's Markdown export as the optional source document. Selecting the file alone does not import it.
Click “Generate profile with AI.” This action uploads the document when present and runs profile generation.
Review and revise the generated name, gender, personality summary, optional habits, likes, and boundaries; then review the uploaded or generated avatar.
Confirm only after that review. The current product does not expose a profile-edit endpoint after confirmation.
Prefer to prepare before signing in? The browser-local workbook includes nine planning fields, a complete example, Markdown copy, and versioned JSON download. It does not mirror the creator inputs one-for-one.

FAQ
Use only images and materials you have the right to use. TheirSide keeps this consent boundary visible in the creator.
Yes. Created characters work in character chat, freeform group chat, and scripted scenes in the same workspace.
Image and avatar generation depend on account access, feature flags, and provider configuration. The creator falls back to the uploaded avatar when generation is unavailable.
